Mar 13 2019 I picked up a Foley 308 chain grinder today. Bought it from the original owner who ran a small saw shop and saw milling operation. He had all of their other sharpening equipment too to sharpen band saws blades and circular saw blades with and with out carbide teeth.
Apr 15 2013 Anyway Ive ended up with a Foley Belsaw model 311. 1x42 belt 8 disc sander. Powered by a GE 12 horse 3450 rpm motor. Its fresh out of long term storage so it is fairly dirty and the machined table is rusty as youd expect. Seems complete other than the table for the belt. Runs smoothly doubt the bearings even need to be replaced.

Jul 28 2014 4940. Location The heart of the Bluegrass. I have a decent little Foley Belsaw 399 Chain Mate grinder I would like to pass on. Foley makes top line sharpening equipment I would consider this to be a lighter duty model but certainly sufficient for a weekend cutter. Seems to operate properly but will need a new wheel.

Feb 28 2016 OK the grinder is working. My first use was to grind some 120 degree flats on the larger drill shanks. For drills 12 and over the flats are nice to have. I had a bit of a learning curve you cannot grind too much at one time I set the work-head with an indicator to move at a perfect 90 degree angle with respect to the face of the cup wheel.
